Business As Usual

Is my policy still valid?

Yes, It's business as usual. You'll continue to enjoy the same great cover, same great service and all claims are being paid in the normal way.

I am due to renew my policy but I have some questions.

We understand that you may have questions and would like to reassure you that it's business as usual. We are renewing policies, issuing quotations for new business and arranging payment of claims as per normal. Can I make a claim?

Yes, it's business as usual and claims will be processed in the normal way.

I have an outstanding claim with QUINN-healthcare, will it be paid?

All claims will be handled in the usual manner.

Do I still pay my premium to QUINN-healthcare?

In order to continue your cover, you need to continue to make your payments to QUINN-healthcare.

Will there be an increase/decrease in prices?

Presently, we have no plans to make changes to our current prices.

Switching From Another Health Insurer

When I change insurer, will waiting periods apply?

Everyone who joins QUINN-healthcare has immediate cover for an accident or injury and for out-patient costs incurred after joining. If you have served all your waiting periods then there is no break in cover when you transfer to us. If you have not served all your waiting periods with your previous Irish health insurer you can serve the remainder of them with QUINN-healthcare. How do I claim?

It's easy, please complete an out-patient claim form and return it with your original receipts to - QUINN-healthcare, Eastgate Road, Eastgate Business Park, Little Island, Co. Cork.

Will waiting periods apply when I go to hospital?

Everyone who joins QUINN-healthcare has immediate cover for an accident or injury and for out-patient costs incurred after joining. As with all Irish health insurers waiting periods for other cover may apply. A waiting period is the length of time you need to have health insurance before availing of cover. What does my scheme cover when I need to go to hospital?

Your cover will depend on the scheme you have chosen, please refer to the hospital cover on your scheme below. Please contact us prior to your treatment with details of the hospital you are going to, your consultant's name and details of the treatment you will require. In some cases your scheme may have an in-patient excess. This means that you will be required to pay the first €50, €125 or €200 of your hospital claim, depending on the private hospital you choose.

Do I need a claim form for my hospital stay?

No, the hospital will have the form for you and will request that you complete it when you are there. Just remember to bring your membership number with you.

Do I need to pay the hospital?

In most cases we pay the hospital directly, just remember to bring your membership card with you. Please note in some cases an in-patient excess may apply. This means that you will be required to pay the first €50, €125 or €200 of your hospital claim, depending on the private hospital you choose.
