Quinn-Insurance announces its healthcare pricing plans for 2008 and extends its free home insurance offer.

Thursday, 18th October 2007

The company is pleased to announce that the main changes to pricing from 01 January 2008 will be as follows:

Price reductions on six out of ten plans for both individuals and families with minimal increases on the remaining four plans.

Maximum increase of 3% for an individual and a maximum increase of 5% for a family of four and price reductions of up to 12% for individuals and 19% for families.

Increasing the adult price of our most popular product (Essential Plus Excess) by just €11 from €528 to €539.

In line with government recommendations we are introducing a standard, transparent and uniform price through the removal of discount schemes.

Introduction of a 3% service charge for members who choose to pay by instalments. Quinn Healthcare feels that it is equitable to offer a lower total cost for members who elect for immediate payment in full.

For products that already include an excess, rather than having a standard excess across all hospitals we are reducing the excess for certain private hospitals and increasing it for others.

A family of four who switch from VHI’s plan B options will generate savings of €526.66 if they purchase our equivalent product (Essential Plus).

Colin Morgan, General Manager of Quinn-Insurance stated:

“Over recent months we have added 10 new hospitals including the Beacon Clinic, Hermitage and Whitfield increasing coverage for members to 111 hospitals. In addition we have introduced three new healthcare schemes and launched a travel insurance product. As a result of these initiatives we are enjoying record growth in membership numbers.

Our offer of €300 worth of free home insurance has proved very popular and this offer will continue until the end of 2007. Furthermore we will be extending this offer from January 2008 by offering €200 free home insurance per annum for a further three years for both new and existing customers who have health and motor polices with Quinn Insurance. This means that customers can benefit from savings of up to €900 on their house insurance over the next four years”.
