Hospital Cover Benefits

Members of the Essential Health scheme are covered for semi-private accommodation in public and private hosptials.

The Essential Health scheme can include a €50 or €125 excess per claim for private hospital charges. This means that you will be required to pay the first €50 or €125 of your hospital claim depending on the private hospital. Please note this is not a per day charge.

Medical Tourism

If you are covered for a medically necessary surgical procedure in Ireland, but for whatever reason want to have it carried out in the EU, call us on 1890 89 1890 for advice on how you can arrange your treatment abroad.

We will cover the procedure in the overseas hospital, including the surgeon and anaesthetist up to the cost of the procedure in Ireland or lesser amount if the cost overseas is less.
